Autism Assessment
(ADOS-2)
Autism assessments are currently available for children and young people aged 3 to 17 years of age. This assessment involves three appointments and aims to minimise travel times for families.

After the assessment has been booked, the psychologist will be liaising with the educator you feel knows your child best. It’s important for the assessment that we get information about how your child presents in different environments (please note: if your child does not attend an educational facility alternative options can be discussed).
The first appointment is a parent interview via telehealth. You will be asked to complete some questionnaires before that session. Your psychologist will review these before the appointment. This appointment will go for approximately 60 minutes.

The second appointment will be in clinic with your child. They will be invited to participate in activities that help see how your child communicates, interacts with objects provided, and the way they think in play. This appointment will go for approximately 60 minutes.
The assessor will then go away and collate all of the information gathered throughout the assessment. A comprehensive report will be written with assessment outcomes and recommendations.
The final feedback appointment will be scheduled via telehealth. This can be attended by parents alone or your child too (please note: this is to be discussed and agreed to prior). Assessment feedback will be provided alongside a preview of the report. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss recommendations. This appointment will go for approximately 60 mins.
Please note an additional session can be scheduled if parents would like an opportunity to reflect on the assessment results and ask further questions. This appointment will go for approximately 60 minutes.

Autism Assessment
with Cognitive Assessment
(ADOS-2 and WPPSI-IV, WISC-V or WAIS-IV)
If any concerns have been raised about your child’s learning, it is recommended to consider a cognitive assessment in addition to a formal autism assessment. This will provide further understanding of how your child learns and can help with educational planning.

We strive to give your child the opportunity to perform to the best of their potential. The cognitive assessment administration goes for approximately 90-120 minutes.
This can be completed the same day as ADOS-2 administration with a break in between. If you feel this day would be too long for your child, a second clinic appointment can be scheduled if convenient for your family.

Cognitive Assessment
(WPPSI-IV, WISC-V or WAIS-IV)
Cognitive assessments can also offered to children and young people (3-17) as a stand alone service if required.

Please contact us to discuss your child's needs to make sure this assessment is tailored for your child.
